love, Pittsburgh Founders Launch New love, Concept Shop in Market Square

Local gift experts create a new concept shop building upon their love of meaningful retail.

love, Pittsburgh, a beloved locally-focused gift shop with locations in Downtown, the Strip District and Mount Washington, is expanding its operations with plans to open a new retail storefront called “love,” in Market Square this month.

love, Pittsburgh’s founders, Kelly Sanders and Monica Grunick, are creating a new concept store called love, born out of their passion for creating meaningful shopping experiences.  The new lifestyle store will be filled with products that help Kelly and Monica cultivate joy in their lives, and invite others to experience with the same intention.

For Sanders and Grunick, this will be their second store in Downtown Pittsburgh.  The female founders are excited to expand their locations and continue to add to their team of 12 to support the new retail location. “Downtown was thrilled to welcome love, Pittsburgh’s second location on Liberty Avenue 5 years ago, so we were really excited to hear that a new love, retail concept was coming to the heart of the region in Market Square,” said Jeremy Waldrup, President and CEO of Downtown Pittsburgh Partnership. “Independently-owned retail is such a valuable component in creating memorable experiences for our workers, residents and visitors. We greatly appreciate the commitment and vision of the love, team in expanding their brand in Downtown.”

The first products developed for love, have appeared in love, Pittsburgh stores, where their warm response from customers encouraged the expansion of the brand.  The love, store draws on their practices of sourcing from local artists under the love, Pittsburgh banner, incorporating a mix of locally sourced products and exclusive collaborations in their new product lines.  “Our vision is to create a brand that extends beyond the Pittsburgh region, and to continue to utilize the local artists and makers who have partnered with us over the past 6 years to help us realize that vision whenever we can,” says Grunick.

love,’s mission is deceivingly simple, and what Kelly and Monica deem to be of utmost importance - to help people love themselves. They believe fostering unconditional love for oneself will spill over to others, and in this abundant cycle is where they find joy. “This store is full of our hearts. Each product selection lights us up, excites us, and makes us swoon. We hope that delight is felt when people walk through the door and experience our concept,” says Sanders.

Rest assured, love, Pittsburgh's three stores and online shop will remain in operations and continue to share their curated selection of the region’s most coveted locally sourced gifts with locals and visitors. The love, concept is an experiment in spreading love beyond the limits of the Pittsburgh region through wistful treasures and heartfelt keepsakes. The love, brand is also shoppable through their website, where their reach will not be limited by geographic ties.

Adele Morelli, owner of Boutique La Passerelle on Wood Street, shares, “As a Downtown small business owner, I am happy to support our network of independent retail. I love sending my customers to other local shops, and cannot wait to suggest they visit love,”

love, will open at 489 Market Street in Market Square in Downtown Pittsburgh at the end of the month with a launch party scheduled for mid-May.
